ELECTRONIC LOCKS
Electronic locks are powered by standard alkaline batteries and offer a reliable secure locking system without the need for keys. All electronic digital locks can be re-programmed at any time for security reasons and can normally be set with codes from 4-8 digits in length. If the batteries expiure they can be easily replaced and the microchip in the lock will retain the proigrammed code(s). The advantages of electronic locks are: ease of use, no keys to be stolen or lost and the code can be re-programmed at any time.
Digital Reprogrammable Lock
Standard Digital electronic locks can be re-programmed at any time by the user using a code normally between 4-6 digits long - some locks can be have a code up to 8 digits. This lock is for single user use and is powered by standard alkaline batteries, which normally last for 6-12 months depending on use.
Digital Time Lock
A Time lock has all the features of the Standard Lock, but with the added feature that the lock can be re-programmed to ionly allow entry within certain times of a day and on certain days of the week. This would ensure that the safe cannot be opened except for these pre-determined times. This is especially useful for any retail environment where you would not want the safe opened within opening times. This lock is often used on a Deposit safe where cash can be inserted through a letterbox opening, but cannot be removed until the pre-determined setting opens the main safe door.
Digital Time Delay Lock
Time delay locks are often used in 24/7 or 7-late shops, Petrol service stations and Off Licences that are susceptible to till snatching. A time delay lock is designed to delay the opening of the safe for a pre-determined time after the entry of the code. This can normally be set from 0-99 minutes. This is a deterrent to the opportunistic thief who will want to escape quickly. Usually you would place a notice on the safe door warning that the lock will NOT open immediately and for instance there will be a 10 minutes delay from the entry of code. These locks are often called anti-raid locks and are usually fitted to Drop deposit safes.
Digital Audit Trail Multi-User Lock
Audit trail electronic locks have all the features of a standard lock, but with the added benefit of allowing multiple users to operate the safe. In order to track and police the openings of the safe the lock will record the time, date and userr id of every opening for a set number of uses. This information is accessed either via the keypad and a LCD screen or by plugging a PC via a USB cable to the lock and downloading the data to pre-installed software.

If fitted in conjunction with a slam shut mechanism so that the key cabinet is never left with the door unsecure. This lock is of particular use to Car and Vehicle retailing and service sector.
